Beschreibung
Effective transformation of educational ecosystems towards Future Skills-promotive Project-based Learning (PjBL) can be significantly facilitated by a specific coaching procedure for teachers. However, its digitalization is still lacking an engaging implementation. Digitally coached deployment of PjBL in higher education can open up new ways to ensure equitable access and opportunities for learners and teachers, equipping both with today’s necessary skills to navigate and critically engage with a digital society. PjBL fosters media literacy, a deeper understanding of the mechanisms behind (digital) economies, and generates interdisciplinary knowledge for learners, while offering involvement with external, non-academic stakeholders and communities within the learning process. Current technologies, including web-based reflection tools, have the potential to support the enhancement of PjBL processes for all learners and thereby facilitate individual and organizational transformation. However, aside from adaptation challenges on the technology and organization layer for digitally supported coaching, user adoption is crucial. The introduction of a web-based digital coaching support tool with metaverse components, for reflecting and processing PjBL from a teaching and organizational perspective, developed as part of this project, requires methodological structure, innovative and attractive design and in-depth user experience (UX) studies. The proposed user-centered approach is driven by digitally supported PjBL coaching principles assisted by gamification and visualization technologies: they allow for an engaging exploration of playful PjBL reflection and development, as teachers operate in increasingly digitalized educational ecosystems. In this project, use cases with selected educators from international and diverse educational contexts will be elaborated to demonstrate feasibility and possible impacts on educational settings in higher education.
