Beschreibung
Teacher training colleges are in a unique position to organically integrate research and teaching due to their collaboration with practice-schools. Yet, teacher training colleges have fewer research resources than research-focused universities. Consequently, conducting design-based research (DBR), i.e., a fairly new and methodologically complex research approach intended to bridge educational practice and research, might seem daunting. To ease the scientific collaboration between teacher trainers and practice-school teachers, this project will delineate a guideline for such endeavours.

This guideline will be based on a pilot DBR study aimed at creating content-and-language-integrative history materials. Using the notion of CDFs as a tool, this study addresses a current need for materials that make the language of history tangible for young learners.
