Beschreibung
Die Steiermark verfügt über eine etablierte Tradition inklusiver Beschulung, wobei die Schulassistenz als zentrales Element der inklusiven Schulentwicklung zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnt. Forschungsergebnisse betonen schon seit Jahren die Notwendigkeit einer Professionalisierung und besseren Qualifikation der Assistenzkräfte sowie deren stärkere Integration in pädagogische Prozesse. Das 2023 in Kraft getretene Steiermärkische Schulassistenzgesetz (StSchAG 2023) reformiert die rechtlichen Grundlagen durch eine Vereinfachung des Antragsverfahrens, eine flexiblere und schulstandortbezogene Zuteilung der Assistenzstunden sowie eine Ausweitung des Leistungsanspruchs. Trotz dieser Reform bleibt der Aufgabenbereich der Schulassistenz formal auf unterstützende, nicht-pädagogische Tätigkeiten beschränkt. Eine Evaluation soll die Auswirkungen der Neuerungen auf Qualität, Organisation und Inklusion systematisch analysieren.

Styria has a long-standing tradition of inclusive schooling, with school assistance increasingly recognized as a key component of inclusive school development. For years, research has emphasized the need for the professionalization and improved qualification of school assistants, as well as their greater integration into educational processes. The Styrian School Assistance Act (StSchAG 2023), which came into force in 2023, reforms the legal framework by simplifying the application process, making the allocation of assistance hours more flexible and school-based, and expanding the eligibility criteria. Despite these reforms, the scope of school assistance remains formally limited to supportive, non-educational activities. A systematic evaluation will analyze the effects of these changes on the quality, organization, and inclusivity within the school system.
