Beschreibung
„Dieses Projekt stärkt Service-Learning (SL) als innovativen Ansatz in der europäischen Hochschulbildung, um Kompetenzen für demokratische Kultur gezielt zu fördern. Durch die Verbindung von akademischem Lernen mit gesellschaftlichem Engagement werden Studierende, zivilgesellschaftliche Akteur*innen und Institutionen befähigt, aktiv zu einem lebendigen demokratischen Miteinander beizutragen.
Im Projekt wird ein Rahmenwerk für wirksame Service-Learning-Praxis entwickelt, anschließend werden Pilotprojekte umgesetzt – unter anderem mit kunstbasierten Methoden, zur Überprüfung von Informationen sowie zur Überwindung sozialer Spaltungen. Ergänzend entstehen praxisnahe Trainingsmaterialien für Lehrende und Community-Partner, die Service-Learning wirksam in Lehre und Curriculum integrieren möchten.“

„Objectives: What do you want to achieve by implementing the project?
This project aims to deepen service-learning (SL) as a powerful pedagogical approach to foster competences for democratic culture in European higher education. Strengthening democratic life & enhancing democratic competences are key priorities for the EU & higher education plays a crucial role advancing these goals. We highlight SL as an innovative method to integrate civic education in the curriculum, empowering students, civic actors & institutions to actively contribute to democratic culture.
Implementation: What activities are you going to implement?
– Developing a framework on effective service-learning practices to foster learning outcomes linked to the EU Competences for Democratic Culture Framework (WP2);
– Executing service-learning pilots to foster competences for democratic culture through art-based approaches (WP3) for information verification (WP4) and for bridging social divides (WP5);
– Developing training materials on service-learning as an effective method for fostering competences for democratic culture (WP3-5).
Results: What project results and other outcomes do you expect your project to have?
– Report on service-learning practices to foster competences for democratic culture in higher education (WP2);
– Training materials for higher education teachers on how to implement art-based approaches in service-learning practices which integrally foster competences in the 4 dimensions of the EU framework (WP3);
– Training materials for HE teachers & community partners on how to develop & implement service-learning practices targeting the challenges of truth (WP4) and trust (WP5).“
