Beschreibung
The study is being done as part of an investigation of foreign language acquisition in the Department of Applied Linguistics and Communication, Birkbeck, University of London and the University College of Teacher Education, Vienna/Krems. This study wants to explore the relationship between affective varia-bles in the (foreign) language class using a web survey. More specifically, it wants to explore links be-tween (foreign) language enjoyment, (foreign) language anxiety, motivation and trait emotional intelli-gence in both German and English classes. Data will be collected from students in upper secondary school and students at University Colleges of Teacher Education as well as students enrolled in teacher educa-tion programmes at Austrian universities who study English and German. The study has received ethical approval from the research ethics committee of the University of London. Both participants and their teachers will remain totally anonymous.
