The project is designed as an empirical study involving adolescent learners of English and combines speech production data with attitudinal data in order to analyze the relationship between linguistic orientations and grammatical variation. Data collection is planned in the school context and will be conducted in cooperation with schools. In this regard, the project has already received support from the Directorate of Education, which endorses the implementation of the study in the school environment.
An FWF Principal Investigator Project proposal has been submitted for this research. The project aims to contribute to international research on variationist second language acquisition and sociolinguistic competence in foreign language education.
